Grandfather and squirrel

"My grandfather had a pet squirrel at one time. He lived in Chislehurst, in a house with woods in a large back garden. The squirrels would come and knock on the window to be fed and eventually one became so tame that it would come indoors. It used to sit on my grandfather's head and eat nuts. It chewed holes in the top of some of the doors so it could get round the house more easily. It also chewed the top of the pen my grandfather kept in his pocket."

With thanks to Mr S for the story, who also contributed the photo below, taken at the Lambeth Country Show (not sure we can post the second half of your story, it's too distressing!)
